Guidelines for In-Game Conduct
- Roleplay Separation:
- When the costume comes off, leave in-character issues behind for a more enjoyable experience.
- Embrace challenges—robbery, humiliation, or insults can add exciting elements to the game.
- In-Character Resolutions:
- Seek redress for in-character grievances using your character’s initiative and resources.
- Avoid moral blackmail or seeking revenge out of character for in-game slights.
- Character Deaths:
- Accept character deaths gracefully, especially if justified within the story.
- Refrain from holding grudges against players out of character or seeking revenge with a new character.
- Respect for Storytellers:
- Respect Storyteller decisions during sessions without arguments.
- Avoid asking the same question to multiple Storytellers to manipulate answers.
- Collaborative Storytelling:
- Engage other players in your character’s plans; solo endeavors can limit enjoyment for others.
- Evaluate the necessity of background elements that won’t interact with other players.
- Submission Process:
- Submit an OOC Contact Detail Form and Character Submission Form before playing.
- Advance character submission is encouraged but not mandatory; bring it to your first game if necessary.
- IC and OOC Separation:
- Remember that players are not their characters; separate in-character and out-of-character conflicts.
- Recognize roleplay as a form of entertainment and take time to disconnect from emotional scenes.
- Metagaming Awareness:
- Keep in-game knowledge separate from out-of-game knowledge to avoid metagaming.
- If you accidentally mix IC and OOC information, talk to the ST so that he can determine the impact.
- It’s Just a Game:
- Stick to the spirit of rules and descriptions, focusing on the overall enjoyment of the game.
- Embrace fairness, avoid exploiting loopholes, and prioritize the fun and well-being of all players.
