Welcome to White Wolf’s World of Darkness – Indianapolis
This dark reflection of reality is centered in Indianapolis, occasionally touching nearby areas. The game is Camarilla-focused, so characters must align with its structure. Anarchs, Sabbat, and Unbound aren’t allowed initially.
Key Points for Players:
- Expectations: Read the Brief, Chronicle Summary, and House Rules. Familiarize yourself with Laws of the Night basics. Status rules are crucial.
- Responsibilities: Share the game documents with new recruits. Preparation is key for a positive experience. Please do not just tell your friend “Oh, just come along, it’ll be fine”, as this does them a disservice and will not add to their enjoyment of the game.
- New Players: Efforts to prepare new players are appreciated. Ensure they’re ready for the immersive experience.
- Feedback: Responsible players provide feedback for game improvement. Communicate feelings about both positive and negative aspects shortly after the game.
- Role-Playing Combat: Combat should complement role-play, not break it. Describe actions believably, considering the collective story’s impact. Mediation is the preferred method of resolving combat.
Be Prepared to Dig Two Graves
If someone wrongs you in character, please do not use ‘moral blackmail’ by showing out of character distress to encourage other people to help you seek revenge for such slights. Your character is a vampire – surely they can seek redress with their own initiative and resources? In character bribes, pleas, promises and conspiracies are obviously OK and revenge is positively encouraged.
If someone kills your character, rejoicing is probably out of the question. If it was appropriate for the character to have killed you, it’s quite unfair to hold this against the player… and utterly unfair to seek revenge with a new character.
Content Rating:
This is intended to be a mature, horror-based game, player discretion is advised. Violence, gore, and mature themes are allowed with prior ST notification. Respect others’ comfort levels and communicate boundaries.
Some people may be easily triggered by some topics (such as rape or incest), so please, be sure to work with other players that will be involved in storylines to help ensure they have a fun experience.
Your triggers are your responsibility. Whereas every effort will be made to try to avoid them, sometimes things happen. If it is not made clear going into a scene that certain topics might be triggering, then we ask that you deal with it as best you can to get through the scene. Additionally, players should not seek out someone’s trigger to purposely deprive them of a fun role playing experience.
Physical Interaction: This non-contact LARP emphasizes explicit consent for any physical contact. Immersion is encouraged, but players can step away if uncomfortable.
Sensitive Topics:
Certain topics require player consent. Disregarding consent results in immediate removal from the game.
